John P. Bell is a software developer and artist at Dartmouth College. His work includes acting as Director of the Data Experiences and Visualizations Studio, Manager of Dartmouth Research Computing‘s Digital Humanities Program, and Lecturer in the Film and Media Studies Department. He once co-wrote an 85,000 word book about a 38 character computer program.

Claire Preston is the 22/23 Neukom XR Fellow in the DEV Studio. She recently completed a Master’s in Virtual and Augmented Reality from Goldsmiths, University of London where her work focused on the potential applications of virtual reality for behavior science. She graduated from Kenyon College in 2020 with majors in Studio Art and English, both passions she enjoys integrating with her XR work and pursuing outside the studio.

Dr. Brinker Ferguson is a Research Associate in the DEV Studio and heads the Cultural Heritage Preventative Preservation Program at Dartmouth College. In addition, she is an Adjunct Professor, lecturing on Museum Studies and Oceanic Cultural Studies in the Anthropology Department. Previously she was a post-doc fellow at Dartmouth College through the Neukom Institute for Computational Science. Her research focuses on cultural heritage preservation, computational imaging, and Indigenous agency.

Andrew Chen is a ’24 at Dartmouth College majoring in Computer Science. Andrew works on augmented reality app development at the Studio and teaches coding at local schools as a member of the Dartmouth CoderDojo club. Outside of the Studio, you can find him strolling through Mink Brook or wandering around campus taking photos for The Dartmouth.

Xenia Dela Cueva is a ’24 at Dartmouth college majoring in Computer Science and Geography.

Lindsay Kusnarowis is a UX Developer at Data Experiences and Visualizations Studio who studies Cognitive Science and English as a member of the class of 2020 at Dartmouth College. Her past work experience includes designing games at Tiltfactor and performing research in astrophysics, space science, sociology, and psychology. You can find her portfolio here. She worked at the DEV Studio from its inception in Summer 2019 to Winter 2020.

Daniel Akili is a senior at Dartmouth College with interests in Computer Science and Mathematics. Daniel explores new hardware and software as well as helping in building functionalities for Unity3D apps. Outside the Studio, Daniel works at the Dartmouth Technology Resource Center, enjoys participating in Hackathons, and is part of the King Scholars Program, Great Issues Scholars, Tutor Clearing House, and Dartmouth Club Soccer. He worked at the DEV Studio from its inception in Summer 2019 to Fall 2020.

Kshitij Jain is a rising junior at Dartmouth from India. He is interested in CS, Mathematics and Economics and is interested in finding ways tech and finance can have a joint impact. Kshitij is also very passionate about app development and outside the lab, you can find him playing frisbee, soccer or going on bike rides with friends. He worked at the DEV Studio from Fall 2020 to Winter 2021.

Alaina Arnold is a Computer Science/Digital Arts Major at Dartmouth College set to graduate in 2022. Alaina focuses on creating 3D models and other assets for AR/VR apps and has a passion for helping students create their own 3D Models as a TA in the Sudikoff Lab. When she’s not in the lab or the Studio, she can be found spending time with her friends, creating experimental makeup looks, and exploring Photoshop and Maya.

Kelly Wang is currently pursuing a MS in Computer Science with a Concentration in Digital Arts at Dartmouth College. She is passionate about creating compelling virtual worlds and unique experiences for interactive media and exploring the intersection between art and computer science. Outside the lab, Kelly enjoys drawing, exploring new foods, and playing games with friends.

Nestor Orozco-Llamas is a dual-degree student pursuing a B.E. in Computer Engineering at Dartmouth while simultaneously studying Computer Science at Middlebury College. At the studio, he helps set up and explore new equipment brought into the DEV Studio. Outside of the studio, Nestor enjoys backpacking, swimming in the ocean, and listening to podcasts.

Kala Goyal is the 2020-2022 Neukom/ITC XR Fellow in the DEV Studio. They worked on designing and creating VR experiences and doing research in the effects of the Uncanny Valley in VR. Much of Kala’s work is on Github, and their portfolio as well as recountings of some of their experiences is on their website.
